Visit Downtown Richmond

Filled with Civil War and other historic sites, Virginia’s capital city also features the mighty James River that courses through the center of downtown offering whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing or tubing adventures. Cyclists love the challenge of flying over dirt mounds on Belle Isle or ripping over rocks on the way to Hollywood Cemetery – final resting place of two U.S. presidents. The American Civil War Museum uses education and storytelling to explore the unparalleled significance the Civil War holds to complexities we face today.

Getting Around

The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) services Richmond’s Main Street Station and GRTC’s free Bus Rapid Transit – Pulse bus stops at RVM every 10 to 15 minutes daily during daytime hours. Taxis and rideshare services are also available.
