VPRA-Owned Property

The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority has acquired three segments of rail corridor from CSX (Segments 1, 2, and 3) and a portion of the Manassas Line rail corridor from Norfolk Southern. However, CSX and Norfolk Southern retained certain rights in these corridors. Click the map below for the location of each segment.

Public Projects Requests

Use the map and form below to determine which VPRA Segment your property is located and to begin your request.

Due to Deed Restrictions for any property on Segment 1, utility requests must be processed by CSX.

"The right to use the Passenger Rail Corridor for utilities shall remain with and be exclusive unto Grantors [CSX Transportation]." View the Segment 1 Deed for more information.

The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority manages crossings and longitudinal occupancies less than 500 feet on this Segment. View the Segment 2 Deed for more information regarding the deed restrictions for properties on this segment.

Before submitting your completed application, please review VPRA's Specifications for Wireline Occupancy and Specifications for Pipeline Occupancy. All pipeline and wiring work must follow these guidelines.

Due to the Deed Agreement for this Segment, VPRA has the non-exclusive right to approve public broadband.
