Fredericksburg Station Information

The Fredericksburg Amtrak station is located at 200 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg, VA. The station consists of a platform and shelter adjacent to the 1910 brick depot, which is located one block from the Rappahannock River waterfront. The station is also served by Virginia Railway Express (VRE) commuter trains that link the area with the nation’s capital, as well as by local buses.

Kenmore Fredericksburg

George Washington and his mother Mary Washington lived in Fredericksburg for years. Stroll the streets that George once walked and visit the sites with strong Washington family connections. Just two blocks from the Amtrak station, stop by the Fredericksburg Visitor Center for a map and discount museum passes. Historic Kenmore is the home of George Washington’s sister, Betty Lewis and her patriot husband, Colonel Fielding Lewis. Other Washington family historical attractions include the Hugh Mercer Apothecary, the Mary Washington House, Mary Washington Monument, and Meditation Rock, and the Rising Sun Tavern.

Fredericksburg was a crucial city in the Civil War; more than 85,000 men were wounded and 15,000 were killed. Visit the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center and see films and exhibits depicting the actions that took place in and around Fredericksburg during the battles.
