Crossroads Third Track (Siding F) will construct approximately 4 miles of third track in Spotsylvania County from south of Spotsylvania station to Claiborne Crossing Road, and include modifications to the at-grade crossing at Summit Crossing Road and the existing XR interlocking to accommodate a third track. The additional capacity provided by this new siding will increase the efficiency of passenger and freight trains in the area south of VRE’s Spotsylvania station.

Siding F will increase network fluidity and reduce delays due to passenger and freight train congestion.
