Getting Around Norfolk

Hampton Roads Transit provides bus service throughout the year as well as a trolley service (VB Wave) on the Virginia Beach oceanfront during the summer season. Hampton Roads Transit provided more than 14 million passenger trips in 2017, and currently serves passengers via 72 routes.

Amtrak’s Norfolk station is a 3,500-square foot, ADA-accessible station providing passengers with restrooms, visitor information, a taxi stand, and Amtrak thruway bus stop.

The Tide Light Rail

If you’re looking to explore a little more without the walk, try taking the Tide, Norfolk’s light rail that runs from Fort Norfolk Station, near the historic Ghent district, to the Newtown Road Park & Ride Station at the Norfolk / Virginia Beach city line, making stops near the Chrysler Museum of Art, The MacArthur Memorial, and Harbor Park Baseball Stadium.
